Bill of Lading number

The B/L number can be assigned manually or it can automatically be generated by the program. The automatic numbering has to be pre-defined in the code, so that the program knows what type of number to assign.

If it is a manual number, type it and then enter the ports and the job. At his point the program will ask you if you want to assign this new number and whether it is a Memo B/L or not.

If it is an automatic number, do not type anything in the B/L number field, assign the ports and the job number and the program will ask you if you want to create a new B/L. the number will be assigned automatically, depending on how it has been coded.

Some of them have the combination of the three first letters of the port of load and the port of discharge, some of them have numbers corresponding to the ports, taken from the ports table, or simply consecutive numbers.
