Automatic Export System- AES

ISIS has incorporated a new option to be able to send the Shipper’s Export Declaration documents electronically (SED’s). In order to be able to do that, there is some criteria that have to be met in the Bills’ of Lading.

  1. Shipper has to have a valid EIN number**
  2. Shipper has to have a valid address and phone number in the CMS
  3. The cargo value has to exceed US$ 2500
  4. Description line item has to have a schedule B

You will find in the lower screen of the B/L a Tab that says AES. If you go into this module, you will be able to see the status of the transmission of the AES.

If it has not been transmitted yet, there is an option, Verify Data, to review it before sending it. Once this comes back without errors you can proceed to send it, by using the transmit AES option. This will create an entry at the bottom of the screen explaining the status. As the entity replies, you will see their messages in this screen as well.

**In the case of companies that consolidate cargo and manifest many dock receipts from different shippers into one master B/L , it is important to have the shipper in the B/L as agent. In this way the program verifies the EIN numbers of the Dock receipts that have a cargo value above 2500
