Features of
the Bill of lading
Users will find the B/L in windows as one of the friendliest users program. Every section of the B/L has a set of new helpful features, as follows
New features in the B/L header entry screen
New features in the B/L detail entry screen
New features in the B/L rate entry screen
There is also a set of general features that are pretty much common in all windows programs, as follows,
Under File you will find: the following options
New: Opens a new window to create a new B/L or to access an existing one
Close Closes the window
Last B/L: It will find the last B/L that you were working on
Prior: If you are in a B/L, it will take you to the previous B/L*
Next If you are in a B/L, it will take you to the next B/L*
Save B/L: After a B/L has been edited; you can use this option to save changes that you have made
Cancel Edit; deletes what you have typed in a specific filed
Print B/L; prints the B/L form
Print Rating Worksheet: Prints a list of the rates , showing charges, amounts and billing parties. It is recommended to print the worksheet before posting.
Rate B/L, based on the table of tariffs or rating defaults, it will generate the charges, based on the ports, commodity and equipment type. They can be manually entered and changed, as well.
Post B/L: Creates accounting information, including accounts receivable, accounts payable and automatic entries to the General ledger
Replace port names: for printing purposes, if the name needs to show a different name than the one specified in the port field
Change Final Destination port; For un-posted B/L’s allows the user to change the final destination port of the Bill of Lading
Under the Edit menu, you will find the options to cancel and put B/l’s on Hold. There is also a feature to do a Freight Release.
Under the Forms option, you will find options to print the Bill of Lading, the Rating Worksheet, the Arrival Notice, Shipper’s Export Declaration, Carrier Release and bank Draft
Please review the special keys, to delete a line and insert a line in the details or in the rates
